A family favourite dessert, these soft and chewy blondies have a vanilla, brown sugar base. What’s more, the best part? To make them, you only need ONE bowl!
Ingredients
- 1 cup melted unsalted butter
- 2 cups packed dark brown sugar
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup toffee pieces
- 1 teaspoon flaked sea salt for sprinkling on blondies
Blondies: How to Make Them
You’re going to love my blondie recipe because it only requires one bowl! They are SO simple to make! You’ll be digging into a warm pan of delicious blondies in no time.
- Begin with some planning! Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 913 with parchment paper. This makes removing the Blondies from the pan after baking a breeze!
- Spraying the parchment paper with nonstick cooking spray also makes it easier to cut and serve them after baking.
- Begin with the butter and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Mix them, then add the eggs and vanilla extract.
- Let’s move on to the dry ingredients! Baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir them in until they’re just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and toffee pieces to finish. Blondies do not require chocolate or toffee, but I highly recommend including both. I like to use semi-sweet chocolate chips, but you can use whatever chocolate chips you prefer. Take care not to over-mix the batter.

- Press the dough into a 913 pan and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, checking at 30 minutes for safety. The baking time will vary depending on the temperature of your oven. The blondies should be set in the centre and golden brown on top.
- Allow them to cool completely in the pan before lifting them out and cutting them into squares.
Have fun with your new favourite dessert! And you have my permission to serve it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Yummmmmm!
Extra Blondie Mix-Ins
With mix-ins, the sky is the limit, just like with traditional brownies. This recipe includes chocolate chips and toffee bits, but you could use whatever your family enjoys! Try:
- Pretzels chopped
- M&M’s • Reese’s Pieces
- Chips with peanut butter
- White chocolate chips
- Chopped walnuts, pecans, or almonds
- Cocoa flakes
How to Keep
The blondies can be stored on the counter for up to 4 days if kept covered. Blondies can also be frozen. Allow the blondies to completely cool. When completely cool, cut into squares and place in a freezer bag or container. Keep frozen for up to a month.
